 Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp  -If you are in downtown San Diego on Fat Tuesday you are required to Party Mardi Gras ~ Gaslamp style.  This Gaslamp Quarter-wide outdoor celebration includes two spectacular parades on Fifth Avenue and a fabulous block party featuring many great stages with fun musical acts.  Enjoy tasty treats, cold beverages and beads, beads, beads. This event goes on rain or shine. Ticketed event/21 and up only. Proceeds benefit GQA (Gaslamp Quarter Association). Mardi Gras (or Carnivale) is on a different day each year based on the Christian season of Lent. We always celebrate on the true date of Fat Tuesday. Tuesday, March 8, 2011

ShamROCK! March 17th brings the luckiest block party in the Gaslamp Quarter! Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the ultimate outdoor party.  With over 40,000 square foot Astroturf, they literally turn the streets green! Party includes live rock & roll and punk rock bands, super fun DJs, special entrance to clubs and bars, and of course, Irish food & green beer! Ticketed event/21 and up only. The Michael Jon Hogue Memorial Golf Tournament is our annual local's tourney. Held at a beautiful San Diego Golf Course in early May each year, this fun "friend-raiser" features food and beverages out on the links with great treats, contests, and prizes. It is truly a great day out on the greens. Proceeds benefit GQA. May 2011 - Riverwalk Golf Club

KiFM Jazz Festival - This outdoor, block-party/music festival features national and local Jazz throughout the Quarter. Held each Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, stages are on 5th Avenue & G Street. In addition to the music on the streets, more than 25 Gaslamp clubs and restaurants feature Jazz bands.Ticketed event/21 and up only. Taste of Gaslamp - Downtown’s favorite eating extravaganza and urban food safari! Enjoy a delightful day of "Tastes" in the historic Gaslamp Quarter. Participants have the fun of visiting many unique, interesting locations and trying samples of their delicious house specialties. Guests take a self–guided walking tour and the tasty treats from our finest restaurants are included in the ticket price. Also features a special beer tasting garden, sponsored by the Samuel Adams family of fine beers. Proceeds benefit GQA. June, 2011

San Diego Film Festival- Recently voted one of the top ten hottest film festivals in the U.S.!  Party for four days and nights with some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities and the industries biggest names. SDFF 2009 will host over 75 films including: American & International films, documentaries, short films, and music videos. Ticketed event/all ages/21+ parties. Info: (619) 582-2368. Fifth Avenue Auto Showcase - The event had its debut in 2009, featuring some of the world’s most iconic high performance vehicles, from Ferraris to Fords, all beautifully displayed along historic Fifth Avenue. 
Plans in 2010 include the expansion of the event to include more Gaslamp blocks and more incredible cars. FREE, Proceeds Benefit GQA  Sunday, October 10, 2010

Lamplighter Awards, Dinner and Auction - An extravagant night featuring fantastic appetizers prepared by some of Gaslamp’s finest restaurants, filled with fun auctions with otherwise unobtainable items and very special selections on the block. Be there when the Gaslamp honors its own with the Best of Gaslamp Awards.  Individuals and Gaslamp businesses are recognized in this SoCAL red carpet event. Proceeds benefit GQA.  Location: Omni Hotel San Diego, Monday, November 15, 2010

Fallback Festival  This will mark the 9th annual Fall Back Festival, on the Sunday that ends daylight savings time.  This great family event includes the Historic Children's Street Faire, the world’s only festival that celebrates history by “falling back.” Tons of children’s activities, entertainment, food, and demonstrations. Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade
San Diego pet owners are invited to dress up their pet in their favorite costumes for a special promenade throughout the Gaslamp, just for the holidays. Sunday, December 12, 2010

Poinsettia Battle of the Bands in the Gaslamp Quarter
Watch the marching bands from each of the competing schools in a big band battle! It's the only musical showdown on 5th Avenue and a must-see event.

San Diego Restaurant Week - Twice a year San Diego restaurants throw a culinary celebration featuring three fabulous courses for a fixed price. Gaslamp guests are tempted to try several different restaurants during each week as venues develop thier specials menus designed to showcase their craft.
